Festival of Theatre and Storytelling

There is a location, just near Ostuni, where lies the oldest mother of the world. It is known as Archeologic Park Santa Maria di Agnano, protected by secular olives, it smells of lavender and mint. In this special place where Delia has been buried (she was 20 years old when she died, 28.000 years ago), there is a stone amphitheater in front of the sea. The first edition of Teatro Madre (= Mother Theatre) rises here: The Festival of Theatre and Narration will present 9 performances, from 20th July to 17th August: 5 shows for families (about the review “Il posto delle Favole al Parco” = The Place of Tales in the Park) and 4 shows for people (about the review “Teatro al Parco” = Theatre in the Park). From Cinderella to Little Red Riding Hood to epic stories of Icaro and Don Tonino Bello, theatre is perfectly mixed with nature. And more: guided tours, animated reading and creative workshops for kids: all to live in a magic location. Keep with you a light jacket: evenings could be cool.

Locus Festival is one of the most long-lived festival in Valle d’Itria, born and grown in Locorotondo, one of the smallest and typical town in Puglia. Its XIV edition -from 7th July to 11th August 2018– presents avant-garde musical proposal, focusing on the contemporary black music, able to break musical and cultural barriers. Its line-up includes names such as R+R = NOW, Robert Glasper, Terrace Martyn, Christian Scott, Derrick Hodge, Justin Tyson, Rodrigo Amarante, Baustelle, Cosmo and more others. Locus Festival is not only music. Getting around lands and historical center of Locorotondo, you can enjoy events dedicated to visual arts, literary meetings, workshops, exhibitions about Italian comics and more. Finally, there are many events linked the territory: Iat Locorotondo office is the dedicated info point and organizes guided tours during the festival time. “Pugliatolive” and “Tourbyme” websites offer many specific experience packs in the same days.
Festival dei Sensi

It is the first Italian festival that doubles! After the spring edition about “hearth”, made in Parco dei Gessi of Bologna last May, this special kermesse is preparing for its summer edition, will be in Puglia on 17th, 18th and 19th August, meeting scientists, philosophers and writers as speakers. The theme of this edition is the “water”, in all its declinations and forms. From daily washing and cleaning to special meaning such as the water femininity, among dreams, mysteries, cinema and literature. They will be three days during which living and enjoying the pure beauty with meetings, book presentations, workshops and walking tours.
Festival della Valle d’Itria

Forty-four years old without perceiving them. The Festival della Valle d’Itria, opera festival known in all the world for bringing to life reviews of rare and not famous operas, links tradition and contemporary mood adapting to modern times. It is a very amazing event that, year by year, surprises for its renewal ability always following the tradition, with an intense researching work. Those that love Italian Belcanto and that appreciate this festival, its unedited operas and renewed ones, can enjoy shows from 13th July to 4th August. There are also concerts and meetings in beautiful locations. Festival takes place in Palazzo Ducale (=Palace of Duke) of Martina Franca but many concerts and meetings take place in cloisters, churches and old farms in Valle d’Itria.
